In the opening game of the ongoing Legends League Cricket Masters (LLC Masters), Asia Lions defeated India Maharajas by nine runs. Shahid Afridi, who was the captain of the winning team was delighted with his team’s victory and celebrated in style.
The cricketer was spotted hugging Harbhajan Singh after the match and in a confusion, he was about to hug the lady umpire but on realising, he backed off and shook her hand. The video instantly went viral on all the social media platforms as the fans found it quite hilarious.
Meanwhile, the opening game of the LLC Masters started with a bang as the Asia Lions started well with a win, courtesy of an explosive innings from the former Pakistan legend, Misbah ul Haq. Batting first, the Asia Lions were under pressure as they lost two quick wickets of Tillakaratne Dilshan and Asghar Afghan. However, former Sri Lanka international Upul Tharanga rescued them with his 40 off 39 deliveries but it was Misbah ul Haq, who helped the team reach to a match-winning total.

The 48-year-old smashed 73 off just 50 deliveries and courtesy of his knock, Asia Lions posted 165 on board after 20 overs. Shahid Afridi, who was batting at number five started his innings well but couldn’t capitalize. Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers looked pretty average throughout the course of the match. Even though Stuart Binny and Parvinder Awana picked up two wickets each, there wasn’t enough quality as the players seemed to get tired.
When it comes to batting, skipper Gautam Gambhir led by example but no other cricketer could help him out in the middle. The southpaw scored 54 off 39 deliveries while the second-leading run-scorer of the team, Murali Vijay scored 25 off 19 deliveries. There were a lot of expectations from Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan since they recently played in ILT20 but none of them could impress.
Sohail Tanvir, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, picked up three wickets with the ball as the Lions emerged victorious in the end. Now, courtesy of his sensational knock, Misbah was adjudged as Player of the Match
