Mahendra Singh Dhoni has turned back the clock with his new hairdo in the Indian Premier League 2024. The 42-year-old has been sporting long hair akin to his younger days and fans cannot keep calm. Not only his appearance, his gameplay has also changed, and the former Chennai Super Kings captain has come all guns blazing at death. He has been striking at a rate of over 250 plus this IPL 2024.

The recent encounter between CSK and Lucknow Super Giants was no different. Dhoni entered the fray with just over two overs remaining in the first innings. He paired up with Ravindra Jadeja and sprinted  ones and twos. In the final over he blasted Yash Thakur for 16 runs in four deliveries. CSK player, Shivam Dube’s wife, Anjum Khan could not help but show her amazement via social media post for the legend.

She wrote on Instagram, “Mahi hai to mumkin hai (It is possible if Dhoni is around).”

You need 10-15 or even 20 runs extra: Ruturaj Gaikwad

Despite the wicketkeeper-batter's onslaught, CSK were abysmal with the ball. They did not strike early and LSG batters exerted pressure. KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock paired up for a 134-run stand, the highest first-wicket stand in IPL 2024. LSG outclassed the visitors by eight wickets. CSK captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad said that the team fell short by 20 more runs.

"We finished well with the bat, couldn't have asked more with the situation we were in. After powerplay, we couldn't capitalise on the start we got and we kept losing wickets at regular intervals. I would say we were 10-15 runs short. Slightly difficult with such a total, with the impact sub-rule, you need 10-15 or even 20 runs extra," Gaikwad said during the post-match presentation.
