As the game approaches, there are various records that have passed the test of time in the ODI World Cup final. Australia holds the record for the highest total in a World Cup final, with a score of 359 runs against India in 2003.

Similarly, Pakistan holds the record for the lowest total at 132 in the 1999 World Cup final. Furthermore, the record for the biggest win in the final is held by Australia when they defeated India in 2003 by 125 runs. The Men in Yellow hold the record for the biggest win by wickets as well, defeating Pakistan by eight wickets in 1999.

The highest individual score in an ODI World Cup final is held by former Australia batter Adam Gilchrist after his heroic 149 run-knock in 2007. The best bowling figures were recorded by Joel Garner, who took five wickets and conceded 38 runs in the 1979 final.

India look to get their hands on the coveted title

The Indian team has been in sensational form at the ODI World Cup 2023, led by Rohit Sharma. The side were unbeaten throughout the group stage of the competition, winning every game and became the first side to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

Furthermore, the Men in Blue continued their winning run and defeated New Zealand in the first semi final of the tournament as well. On the other hand, Australia defeated South Africa in the second semi-final, setting up the marquee clash between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.
