There have been some bizarre moments in a game of cricket that confuse the fans and the experts. This is what took place during the ICC CWC League 2 match between Namibia and USA which took place at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket (Ministry Turf 1), where the game was cut short to 43 overs.

Surprisingly, the overs were not reduced due to any weather or bad light, which is usually considered normal in case of such a happening, but due to the late arrivals of both the teams at the venue due to heavy traffic jams in Muscat due to an Ironman/Marathon road race at the city. While USA Cricket had given the reason for the match delay as ‘Unforeseen logistical circumstances’, American cricket journalist Peter Della Penna had revealed the reason behind the reduction of overs on social media.

“Toss and match update: The toss and match start time have been delayed due to unforeseen logistical circumstances," USA Cricket posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“Apparently, both teams could not get to the ground because a marathon/Ironman road race in Muscat resulted in significant road closures, including the routes that were meant to be taken by the USA and Namibia team buses. Match reduced to 43 overs per side," Della Pena replied on USA Cricket's post.
