Star India pacer, Jasprit Bumrah was one of the linchpins behind India’s memorable win against Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Perth. He picked five wicket haul in the first innings and followed it up with three wickets in the second innings and India won by 295 runs to take a lead of 1-0 in the series. Moreover, he was the captain of the side as Rohit Sharma was away due to familial reasons.

The team will next take on the Aussies in the Pink Ball Test at Adelaide from December 6. There is ample time for the players to recover, explore the city and spend some time with the family. Sanjana Ganesan, cricket presenter and Bumrah’s wife, uploaded a story on Instagram where she was enjoying matcha tea along with the pacer.

“Matcha and cute boy,” Sanjana wrote on her story on the social media platform.

Bumrah never talks about only himself: Pujara

Perth Test was Bumrah’s second assignment as the Test captain. The right-arm pacer had previously led the side against England in the rescheduled Test in 2021, where India lost the game. Looking at how Bumrah conducted himself on the field as captain against the Aussies, India batter, Cheteshwar Pujara seconded thought of seeing the former as potential captain and called him a “team’s man”.

“(On Bumrah being the best) He is without any doubt. The way he has showed that in difficult circumstances when we had a tough series at home and when you are playing a first Test match in Australia and to put up a show like that. I think he has the capability of leading the team and he’s a team’s man. You look at him he never only talks about himself, he talks about the team, the other players. What advice he would give,” said Pujara as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
