MI vs RR: Rohit Sharma spooked by fan running on field, video goes viral

Mumbai Indians gave a target of 126 runs for Rajasthan Royals to chase.

Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals locked horns in the 14th game of the IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, April 1. As both sides took centre stage in the game, Mumbai were limited to a subpar total of 125 runs in the first innings.

Coming out to defend the target, a moment caught the eye of the public as a fan leapt security and ran towards the Mumbai Indians’ players in the second innings. The fan bolted towards former skipper Rohit Sharma and spooked the veteran batter in the process.

The clip was shared on X and has been making the rounds all over social media as MI aim to defend their low total, keeping themselves from their third loss of the IPL 2024.

Mumbai Indians handed third loss of IPL 2024 Speaking of the game, it was a forgettable encounter for Mumbai Indians. Both sides locked horns in the Wankhede Stadium and as Mumbai came out to bat, the side fell to the mercy of Rajasthan’s bowling attack.

With Hardik Pandya being the side’s highest run getter on a score of 34 runs, Mumbai managed to score a total of 125 runs in the first innings of the game. As for the Royals, Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal were the highest wicket-takers with three scalps each to their names. Nandre Burger took two, with Avesh Khan striking once as well.

Aiming to chase down the target, RR got off to a shaky start as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler were dismissed for 10 and 13 runs, respectively. Furthermore, skipper Sanju Samson scored 12 runs in 10 balls, with Riyan Parag staying unbeaten on a score of 54 runs and propelling his side to a win.  Winning the game by six wickets, Royals handed Mumbai Indians their third loss of the season and won their third consecutive game.
