Misbah ul Haq hints at turbulent relations between Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza in an old video

Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik got married to actor Sana Javed on Saturday, January 20. Notably, Shoaib was previously married to Indian Tennis ace Sania Mirza since 2010 and various reports claimed that the couple were going through a turbulent time in their relationship since mid-2022. Following Shoaib’s third marriage, Sania’s family revealed that the cricketer had divorced their daughter before going ahead with his third wedding.
As soon as the pictures of Shoaib with his newly wedded wife Sana surfaced on social media, fans began digging for videos or pictures from the past which suggested that things weren’t rosy between Shoaib and Sania. One such clip has gained attention on social media where former Pakistan Cricket Misbah ul Haq is seen taking a jibe at Shoaib’s uncordial relations with his ex-wife.

In the viral video, which is from the sets of the Pakistan cricket discussion show ‘The Pavilion’ on A Sports, the anchor asks why is Misbah so happy on the sets. While replying to the anchor, Shoaib says “It’s because he’s away from his family.” Listening to Shoaib’s answer, Misbah immediately quips, “People think everyone has the same problems in their lives.”

Notably, Sania and Shoaib have a five-year-old son named Izaan who is living with Sania’s mother currently. Sania’s father Imran, also revealed that the separation between the couple happened through the process of “khula,” under Sharia law which grants the right to Muslim women to unilaterally divorce their husbands.

Sania and Shoaib tied the knot in 2010 amid much criticism from a section of the society due to turbulent relations between India and Pakistan. However, the Tennis star brushed aside all the negativity and embarked on her new journey in life.

On professional front, the 37-year-old announced her retirement in 2022 after a illustrious 20-year career. Sania has 43 WTA Doubles titles and one singles trophy to her name and continues to inspire women to take up a sporting career all over the world.
