MLC 2023: Kieron Pollard does Dwayne Bravo's 'aeroplane' celebration after MI New York beat TSK
MI New York beat Texas Super Kings by six wickets to reach MLC 2023 final.
The West Indies legends Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo share a strong camaraderie both on and off the field over the years. The two are now playing for MI New York and Texas Super Kings (TSK), respectively, in the inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC).
Previously, during the 2012 Indian Premier League (IPL), Bravo dismissed Pollard during the Eliminator and staged the 'aeroplane' celebration as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ousted the Mumbai Indians (MI) from the competition. Now, MI New York defeated TSK in the MLC match, and Pollard performed the same celebration as Bravo. Notably, the defeat resulted in the elimination of the Faf du Plessis-led side from the tournament.
MI New York took to Twitter to share the video of Kieron Pollard's celebration. The MI batter was spotted having an ironic exchange while Dwayne Bravo was seen welcoming it with a smile. The pair then demonstrated their mutual respect, hugging each other. “These two & their banter Polly wins this round, DJ!" the franchise captioned the post.

Trent Boult was instrumental for MI, picking up four wickets and assisting his side in restricting their opponents by 158 runs. Opener Devon Conway and Milind Kumar ended up TSK's top scorers, with 38 and 37 runs, respectively.
In reply, MI got off to the worst possible start, losing opener Slade van Staden for just six runs. Other batters, however, steadied the innings going as MI chased down the target in the penultimate over. MI relied heavily upon Dewald Brewis during the chase who scored an unbeaten 41 off 33 deliveries.
