MLC 2023: Moises Henriques bowls sensational delivery to send Heinrich Klassen packing in match 3

The inaugural season of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 kicked off in sensational fashion, with the various franchises taking part in thrilling matches. The exciting encounters also came alongside exciting moments that left the fans stunned.

The same was the case in game 3 of the tournament, when the Washington Freedom took on Seattle Orcas at the Grand Prairie Stadium, in Texas, on Saturday, July 15. The fans were treated to a sensational moment in the game when Seattle aimed to chase down a target of 145 runs.

In the eighth over of the second innings, Orcas batter Heinrich Klassen was facing the Australian all-rounder, Moises Henriques. Bowling over the wicket, Henriques bowled a peach of a delivery. Executing the perfect slower ball, the ball seamed in sharply and struck the stumps.

Klassen’s innings was cut short due to the brilliant delivery, as he was dismissed for just one run. The clip of the brilliant delivery has been doing the rounds all across social media.

Seattle Orcas defeated Washington Freedom by five wickets

Talking of the game, it was Seattle Orcas who emerged victorious in the game by five wickets, as they successfully managed to chase the target down. Coming in to bat after losing the toss, Washington put forth a subpar performance with the bat, as none of the batters were able to properly get off the mark. Through a joint effort, the side managed to post 144 runs on the board for Seattle to chase.

Wayne Parnell and Harmeet Singh were the highest wicket-takers for Seattle in the first innings, taking two wickets each. Furthermore, Imad Wasim, Cameron Gannon, and Andrew Tye struck once.

Aiming to chase a target of 145 runs, the knocks of Nauman Anwar and Imad Wasim helped Seattle register a brilliant win. Anwar scored 48 runs with Wasim played an unbeaten 43-run knock. Seattle chased down the target and won the game by five wickets. Getting off to the perfect start, the side will hope for similar performances in the forthcoming matches of the MLC.
