MLC 2023: Texas Super Kings unveil star-studded overseas contingent ahead of inaugural season

The inaugural edition of the 2023 Major League Cricket (MLC) will be contested from July 14 to 31 and will be held across two venues in the United States of America. Star players like Rashid Khan, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Marcus Stoinis, and Aaron Finch, among others will take part in the inaugural edition of the star-studded league.

Texas Super Kings (TSK), co-owned by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is one among the six teams participating in the first-ever MLC. The franchise has unveiled an eye-catching line-up of esteemed overseas players for the upcoming T20 tournament.

India cricketer Ambati Rayudu, who announced his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket after CSK's IPL 2023 final, is set to participate in the MLC for TSK. The 37-year-old will team up with New Zealand players and his CSK teammates Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner. His inclusion in the MLC makes him the first Indian player to play in the league who has represented his country at the highest level.

Dwayne Bravo, David Miller, Daniel Sams, and Gerald Coetzee are the other overseas players in the TSK squad. Notably, Bravo retired from the IPL ahead of the 2023 season and took up the role of the bowling coach for the MS Dhoni-led side. Meanwhile, the side will be coached by Stephen Fleming who is also in charge of Super Kings in the IPL.

Texas Super Kings will take on Los Angeles Knight Riders on July 14 

On July 14, the Texas Super Kings will kick off their MLC 2023 campaign against Los Angeles Knight Riders at Grand Prairie in Texas. The T20 event will be held in Texas for six days before moving to Morrisville, North Carolina. The inaugural edition will include six teams competing for the title.
