Mohammad Amir seeks action against Deputy Commissioner of Multan

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has raised serious concerns over the treatment meted out to his family by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Multan during a recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) match. Expressing his concern, Amir took to his social media to shed light on the incident, urging action against the responsible authority.

In a tweet posted on X, formerly Twitter, Amir expressed his shock and criticism, stating, "Shocked by the unacceptable behavior of the Deputy Commissioner of Multan, who reportedly mistreated my family, arrogantly claiming ownership of the ground & unjustly ejecting them during a match. This abuse of power is intolerable! Urging authorities for immediate action @MaryamNSharif pls I hope u will take action."

The cricketer asked for immediate intervention from the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, urging her office to address the issue promptly.

The incident has sparked a debate over the misuse of authority and the treatment of individuals associated with the sports industry. Amir's call for action emphasizes the need for accountability and fair treatment, especially in public events like the PSL, which garners significant attention and support nationwide.

Amir's professional journey in the PSL has seen transitions, with his latest move to Quetta Gladiators after being released by Karachi Kings. He was part of the Karach-based franchise from the very first season before being released by them. Despite retiring from international cricket in 2020, Amir remains an active participant in various leagues globally.

Amir has played 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is for Pakistan and has taken 259 wickets for his national side. The 31-year-old bowler faced a five-year ban in 2010 after being part of the spot-fixing scandal in a match against England. He returned to play for Pakistan in 2016 before announcing his retirement.
