Mohammad Asif abuses Ihsanullah in controversial conversation
Mohammad Asif has created quite an uproar in the cricket world with some controversial comments on Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and talented pacer Ihsanullah during a conversation on 'X'.
Mohammad Asif has been in the news recently since he criticised Babar Azam for playing too many dot balls in the powerplay in T20I cricket and putting pressure on opening partner Mohammad Rizwan. The 40-year-old also stated that there is no special bowler in the current Pakistan setup, labeling the current crop as average.
Asif has now landed in hot water after abusing talented pacer Ihsanullah during a conversation on 'X' (formerly known as Twitter). The right-arm pacer recalled a chat he had with Ihsanullah. Asif revealed that he had once advised the youngster to bowl full to have the best chance of dismissing batters. In reply, Ihsanullah told him that he would rather hit the batters on the head. A shocked Asif asked whether that ploy would help him dismiss the batter, to which the young pacer replied in negative.
“Hua ye ki maine na Ihsanullah ko ek mashwara diya, maine kaha ki yaar aage se gend karo tum jayda out karoge. Kehra paaji, maine na batsmen ke sar mein gend maarni hai. Maine kaha out ho jayega? Toh keh raha nahi. Toh maine kaha bh****ke kaise out hoga. Gend wicket pe maroge toh out hoga,” Asif said.
Asif was one of the best seamers in the world during his time. He was not the quickest but his ability to swing the ball both ways and consistently bowling in one channel made him lethal. He had all the potential to achieve greatness but his career ended abruptly after being charged with spot-fixing in 2010. Ihsanullah, on the other hand, is just 20 years old but has the ability to clock speeds in excess of 150 kph with relative ease. He has featured in four T20Is and one ODI for Pakistan thus far.
