The form of Virat Kohli has been a big question mark for all the Indian cricket fans this season. The Delhi batter is currently playing in the Ranji Trophy match against Railways. This is the first Ranji Trophy match the legendary batter is playing since 2012 against Uttar Pradesh.

The reason for Virat Kohli's poor form has been the line outside off stump where the former India skipper has been struggling. This was the reason for his poor performances in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where he was dismissed by the pacers quite often. Several former cricketers and experts have spoken about this weakness. Of late, Kohli’s former RCB teammate and NatWest series hero Mohammad Kaif, who was part of the UP team during Kohli’s last Ranji Trophy game, opened up on how he has had this weakness since back then.

“The game had all the big stars playing. For Uttar Pradesh, there was Suresh Raina, Kaif, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Praveen Kumar. Talking about Delhi, they had Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Ashish Nehra, Ishant Sharma," said Mohammad Kaif in a video he posted on social media.

“I could not believe that our match against Delhi in 2012 was Kohli's last Ranji Trophy match. The weakness he had earlier is still there. The way Bhuvneshwar Kumar got him out twice, I cannot believe that the same weakness is still there. The way he was getting out in Australia, he got out in the same way in that Ranji match," Kaif added.

Speaking of the Ranji Trophy match in 2012 that took place at the Jawaharlal Stadium in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh went on to win the game by six wickets where Kohli had scores of 14 and 43 in the game. The Delhi team was led by Virender Sehwag and the UP team was led by Suresh Raina.
