Pakistan had a tough start against New Zealand in the second ODI World Cup warm-up match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on September 29, with their openers being dismissed early. However, the experienced duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan formed a strong partnership in the middle, stabilizing the innings and taking Pakistan to a big score.

Babar scored a solid 80 before being dismissed while Rizwan played exceptionally well and scored a brilliant unbeaten 103 before retiring. After the match during an interview, Rizwan hilariously mentioned that his chemistry and physics is same as that of Babar Azam. Rizwan further explained that his good batting partnership with Babar is due to the good chemistry and understanding he shares with his skipper.

Much-awaited India vs Pakistan set for October 14

After playing warm-up games ahead of the much-anticipated World Cup, Pakistan will begin official proceedings against the Netherlands on October 6 in Hyderabad. However, their most awaited clash against arch-rivals India is slated for October 14 in Ahmedabad. If the latest scenarios are to be kept in place, India has completely dominated the Men in Green as they thumped them by a massive margin of 228 runs in the Super 4 clash of the recently-concluded Asia Cup.

While the first game between the neighbours resulted in no result due to rain, the second clash was completely owned by the eventual winner of the tournament, India. It remains to be seen how two sides will fare in the World Cup this year where hosts India have a better record over the Men in Green in the ICC tournaments.

India will begin their World Cup journey against Australia on October 8 in Chennai after playing their scheduled two warm-up games.
