Pakistan and New Zealand are currently playing a five-match T20I series, which is intriguingly poised at 1-1 after three matches. The likes of Mohammad Rizwan and Naseem Shah have reached significant landmarks during the series and Shaheen Afridi held a celebratory gathering to honour them.
In the second T20I, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rizwan became the fastest batter to reach 3000 T20I runs. Meanwhile, Naseem bagged his 100th international wicket during the third T20I at the same venue. During the celebratory meet-up organised by former Pakistan T20 captain Shaheen, the left-arm pacer lauded the achievements of Rizwan and Naseem.
In the same vein, Shaheen, who is one of the best pacers in modern-day cricket, also congratulated Naseem for completing 100 international wickets. Rizwan responded to Shaheen's heartwarming gesture as he thanked him for bringing the Pakistan team together. The star wicketkeeper-batter also showed his gratitude to his teammates and fans for their constant support.
"Cheers to Muhammad Rizwan - the Bradman of T20 cricket and Pakistan's SuperMan for hitting 3,000 T20I runs. Your impact has transformed the game and silenced the sceptics. Keep soaring, champion! You're an inspiration to many," Shaheen wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"Huge thanks to Shaheen Shah Afridi for orchestrating another fantastic celebration for me and for bringing the stars of the Pakistan team together. Grateful to all my teammates and our incredible fans for their unwavering support," Rizwan wrote back in his response to the pacer.
