Recently, many cricketers, especially from the Indian team, shared similar posts across their social media handles. While Siraj’s story followed suit, the reason behind the upload remains unknown. However, people have speculated that the ace pacer shared his disappointment over the ongoing Rohit Sharma-Hardik Pandya strip.
Notably, Rohit was removed from Mumbai Indians’ captaincy, as the Baroda-born cricketer was given the role. Sharma had been the captain of the five-time champion side for a decade and played a pivotal role in making the franchise it is today.
After the move, MI lost over 500K followers within a day on their Instagram. However, connecting Siraj’s update to MI row seems a bit off, as he himself features for Mumbai rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.
Siraj looking forward to Boxing Day Test
Next, Siraj will be seen donning the whites for the national team, and is expected to lead the pace attack alongside Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming Test series in South Africa. The first Test, which also happens to be the ‘Boxing Day’ Test is scheduled to commence from December 26 at the SuperSport Park, Centurion.
The second game will be played will be played in Cape Town to conclude India’s second red-ball assignment in the World Test Championship Cycle 2023-25. The Rohit Sharma-led side is currently at the top spot in the cycle, sharing a win percentage of 66.67 with arch-rivals Pakistan.
