Before the start of IPL 2024, the auction for the 17th edition of the tournament caused a major stir as some franchises splashed the cash for some big names. Similarly, two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders bought star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc for INR 24.75 crore.
However, the investment has not worked in KKR’s favour so far. In the two games that KKR have played so far, Mitchell Starc has proven to be one of their most expensive bowlers.
In the first game, Starc conceded 53 runs in four overs without taking a wicket; furthermore, in their recent clash against RCB, Starc conceded 47 runs in four overs without taking a wicket once again.
Seeing his performances, the official X account of Iceland Cricket took to the social media platform and decided to troll Starc. Reacting to a post about Starc’s numbers in IPL 2024, Iceland Cricket joked that the star pacer has been more expensive than beer in their country. “More expensive than a beer in Iceland,” Iceland Cricket tweeted.

Kolkata Knight Riders take on Delhi Capitals next
Speaking of Kolkata Knight Riders, the side has gotten off to a brilliant start to their IPL 2024 campaign. With two wins in two games, the team sits in second place in the standings with four points in two matches.
After two consecutive wins, the two-time champions will now shift their focus to their next clash. It is worth noting that KKR will now travel to Visakhapatnam, where they will take on the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals.
Both teams will take centre stage at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on April 3 in the 16th game of the tournament. It is interesting to note that Delhi Capitals are currently winless in the IPL 2024, losing their games to Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, and they will hope to improve against CSK and KKR.
