The entire nation is celebrating the grand occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day on Friday, January 26. On the momentous occasion, the cricketing fraternity also sent their wishes on the special day remembering the unparalleled contribution of the people involved in making India’s constitution.
Legendary India captain MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi also extended her wishes to the country as she shared a reel featuring Dhoni with the national tricolour unfurled in the background. The reel has become an instant hit on social media as people remember the immense contribution by Dhoni on the cricket field leading India to three ICC titles under his captaincy and multiple other trophies.

Notably, Dhoni, who has a special place for the Indian army in his heart, was awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel with the Indian Territorial Army in 2011. The 2011 World Cup winner even served his regiment in July 2019 as he undertook the responsibilities of patrolling, guarding and post duty for about 15 days in Jammu Kashmir form 31st July to 15th August.
The Ranchi-born cricketer had a hugely successful career on the field as he brought his ‘Midas Touch’ to the Indian cricket helping them lift four trophies within six years of his captaincy. Dhoni first led India to a historic win in the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa and won the ICC Test mace in 2010 for leading India to the number one spot in ICC Test rankings.
Dhoni is the joint most successful captain in IPL history
The wicketkeeper-batter further ended the 28-year-long wait of the nation for a World Cup trophy by playing a captain’s knock in the final of the 2011 World Cup (91* off 79) against Sri Lanka and helped India win. Dhoni further added another feather in his illustrious cap by inspiring a young team India to an ICC Champions Trophy triumph in 2013.
Apart from his international achievements, Dhoni is also the joint-most successful captain in IPL history with five trophies to his name. He’s expected to play his last ever IPL season in the upcoming edition in 2024.
