Social media went into a frenzy on July 7, Friday, as cricket lovers from around the world wished the legendary MS Dhoni on his 42nd birthday. Throughout the day, the talismanic cricketer was trending on Twitter and Instagram. Some videos of the former India skipper went viral and took the internet by storm, as he was seen interacting with a few of his fans on his birthday.

However, the best moment for Dhoni's enormous fanbase came when the Chennai Super Kings skipper finally posted a video on his Instagram account after five months. In the heartwarming video, the 42-year-old can be seen cutting a cake in front of his pet dogs. Later, the stalwart tossed a few slices toward the dogs, who caught all the pieces that came their way. While feeding the pets, every now and then, Dhoni took small pieces of the cake and tasted it himself.

The inspirational cricketer stays away from social media as much as possible and his fans have gotten used to it as well. They would surely have been surprised to see a post coming from the man himself, to thank them for the birthday wishes. This is undoubtedly the best return gift for the fans. In the caption of the video, Dhoni thanked his admirers for the warm wishes and also gave them sneak peak to how he celebrated his birthday.
