WATCH: MS Dhoni's dapper new hairstyle leaves fans jaw dropped

The cricket world has always been synonymous with players being style icons for the youth. Now having said that, the former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni, oozes liquid grace especially when it comes to donning new hairstyles and looking dapper with sheer ease.

In a new development, the renowned hair stylist, Aalim Hakeem, unveiled Dhoni's new hairdo which has left the fans jaw-dropped. The legendary figure is known for experimenting with his hair which always garners immense limelight. Interestingly, the Almora-born has mostly kept long hair but for quite some time now, he has come up with fresh ideas by keeping hair shorter.

In the latest look his hairs are visibly shorter yet medium length from the front. While the signature long locks are missing. Consequently, the new transformation surely got the fans buzzing in the social media domain. Fans are appreciating Dhoni for displaying his boldness and being a trendsetter on and off the 21 yards of the cricket field. In fact, some fans went on to compliment the star cricketer by saying that he can just pull off any hairstyle at will.

Fans hope to see Dhoni play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025

Fascinatingly, this new hairdo has come up at a juncture where MS Dhoni is probably preparing to feature in yet another Indian Premier League (IPL) season which also happens to be India's biggest cricket carnival. However, unlike the fans were earlier accustomed to him leading the side, since last year, Ruturaj Gaikwad, after Dhoni stepped away from Captaincy for CSK. In totality, fans now hope that the charm and vibe of the hairdo also influence Dhoni's performance on the field in the upcoming IPL 2025 edition.

For the unversed, with the new set of rules and regulations put forth by the IPL governing council and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), several questions have popped up regarding how MS Dhoni will be able to play in the IPL 2025 season. Notably, Dhoni retired in the year 2019, and as per the latest rules, if CSK want, they can retain him under the "uncapped player" section. However, given the recent statements dropped by Chennai officials, it also seems the possibility that the legend can be retained straight away.

Hence an element of uncertainty surfaced regarding Dhoni's future in the IPL. But with a new hairstyle getting unearthed, fans may see this as a subtle hint from Dhoni gracing the field again soon. Interestingly, last year, the CSK stalwart was nursing a knee injury after going through surgery.

As a result, there were speculations about his availability for the IPL 2024 edition. Even that time Dhoni came up with a new hairstyle and then went on to take the bowlers to the cleaners while representing CSK, just like the good old days.
