MS Dhoni told me to propose to Jaya before IPL 2021 playoffs, I wanted to do it after the final: Deepak Chahar

Chennai Super Kings' star Indian pacer Deepak Chahar uncovered an unheard tale about iconic skipper MS Dhoni during the 2021 edition of the IPL. The star pacer revealed that he was planning to propose to his better half, Jaya, after the IPL 2021 final, but was advised by Dhoni to get over with it before the playoffs to maintain his focus on the game.

Deepak Chahar shed light on the unheard story during his chat with Gaurav Kapur in the latest episode of Breakfast with Champions. Chahar wanted to propose to his longtime girlfriend during the IPL final as it would've been a grand occasion. However, Dhoni advised him to not think too much about it as it may distract him from the crucial matches for the franchise. The Indian pacer has rediscovered his form with the ball just at the right time for the four-time champions after an injury scare threatened to derail his IPL 2023 campaign.

The unassuming fast bowler bowled over his long-time girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj after the Indian star bent his knee to propose to her in the stands after Chennai Super Kings' clash against Punjab Kings at the Dubai International Stadium in October 2021. Jaya, who was taken aback by Chahar's gesture, said yes without any hesitation as the lovebirds exchanged rings in the stands.
