With the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 rapidly approaching its end. It was yet another season of disappointment for the Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore. One of the most popular sides in the tournament, the coveted IPL title still eludes the star-studded franchise.

They played their last game of the league stage against defending champions Gujarat Titans, and despite Kohli’s magnificent ton in the first innings, Gill’s century during the run chase played spoilsport as Bangalore were eliminated from the tournament.

Following the heartbreaking exit from the IPL 2023, ace Indian batter Virat Kohli took to social media to reflect on the season and thanked the fans for their unparalleled support for the side.

"A season which had its moments, but unfortunately we fell short of the goal, disappointed, but we must hold our heads high. To our loyal supporters, grateful for backing us every step of the way. A big thank you to the coaches, management, and my teammates. We aim to be back stronger," Kohli wrote on Instagram.

Royal Challengers Bangalore expresses gratitude to class of 2023

Furthermore, Royal Challengers Bangalore also took to their official social media handle and expressed their gratitude to the entire team and stated that they would look to comeback stronger in the forthcoming seasons.

"We thank each and every member of RCB for putting in tireless efforts and for staying committed to Playing Bold on and off the field. We’ll continue to get better and come back stronger to entertain our lovely fans. Thank you, #ClassOf2023!" Royal Challengers Bangalore tweeted

Bangalore missed out on the knockout stages after their six-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans. The loss saw them finish in sixth place in the IPL points table with 14 points in just as many games, with a net run rate of +0.135. They would have finished in fourth if they had won against Gujarat, as they had a better net run rate than that of Mumbai Indians.
