Pakistan will play England in the second Test at the Multan Cricket Stadium on October 15. Ahead of the game, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the squad for the remaining two Tests, and surprisingly, some key players were dropped. The likes of Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah have been left out of the team.

The move came after the dismal performance of the trio in their recent outings. Particularly, Babar has failed to score a fifty in his last 18 innings. As the snubbing has garnered an immense spotlight, Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali backed the trio and termed them as his brothers and motivated them to come back stronger.

We are fully committed to supporting them during this period: Javed

Pakistan dealt a serious blow in the first Test as England won the game by 47 runs and an innings. Pakistan’s red-ball coach, Jason Gillespie, stated that sometimes players are better players when they are not in the team. On the other hand, Pakistan pacer, Aaqib Javed quipped that the decision to drop Babar, Shaheen, and Naseem was purely looking at their current form.

“We are confident that this break from international cricket will help these players regain their fitness, confidence, and composure, ensuring they return in top shape for future challenges. They remain some of our finest talents with much more to contribute to Pakistan cricket. We are fully committed to supporting them during this period so they can come back even stronger," said Javed as quoted by India Today.
