The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is currently in Sri Lanka for the upcoming ODI series, as the first match is scheduled for Friday, August 02. This will be Rohit's first international outing after India's successful T20 World Cup triumph in the Caribbean and the USA.
For the unversed, the veteran cricketer had hung up on T20I boots post the World Cup, and confirmed it right after the grand finale against South Africa. However, sticking true to his humorous personality, Rohit appeared in a video ahead of the 1st ODI in Colombo, and called a throwback of the month post the victory in Barbados.
Rohit told that the past month has been a surreal one, and that he has been on cloud nine after clinching the trophy as the captain of the Indian team. The Nagpur-born also joked around making a comeback to T20Is, but soon followed it up with a clarification that he has had his time on the format, and that now his focus remains on One-Dayers and Tests.
โWow, what a month it was! Mazaa Hi Aa Gaya. Flooded with memories, etched in history. Aisa moment jo zindagi bhar hamare saath rahega. So much so that it still feels that I can put my pads on anytime for the shortest format (laughs). Nahi Yaar, Chhodo Bhai, I had my time. I enjoyed it, (and) it's time to move on,โ Rohit said in the video uploaded by BCCI on social media.

Partnership between me and Gambhir will hold the Indian cricket as paramount: Rohit
โIt's time to get back on the field, as a new era begins. A fresh start with a new coach. A partnership that is going to hold Indian cricket as paramount. It's time to hit the reset button. And now is the moment for us to get back on the field, with the same energy, and the same passion. The Team India will enter the ground once again, with some new, and some accustomed faces. This is Team India, and this is your captain Rohit Sharma speaking,โ the 37-year-old added.
