Upon winning the toss, United Arab Emirates (UAE) decided to bat first. The tourists put up a great start to the innings as they notched up 310 runs in their stipulated 50 overs of the contest. Skipper Muhammad Waseem slammed 63 runs whereas Vriitya Aravind got 94 off 138 balls.

Qualification for the 2023 ODI World Cup

It is worth mentioning that the two teams are contesting in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, 2019-23 cycle. Notably, the tournament forms a part of the 2023 ODI World Cup qualification process. Namibia, Nepal, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, United Arab Emirates and United States of America are the seven teams part of the event.

Nepal are just one win away from cementing their spot in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier. However, the side will need to obtain a win in the match against UAE in order to make their place in the Qualifier.

Nepal have relished an impressive turnaround in their campaign after standing second-last in February to obtaining 10 wins in their last 11 matches. In doing so, the side has moved to fourth with 38 points, a point behind Namibia, with one match to play. Considering their impressive first innings against UAE, Nepal will be gunning to maintain momentum and win the contest.
