Rishabh Pant departed for a six-ball duck during Match 4 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants at the ACA-VDCA Stadium on Monday, March 24. It was his Indian teammate, Kuldeep Yadav, who was the bowler at the other end.
Pant holed out to long-off where Faf du Plessis pouched a regulation opportunity. The attempted big shot was induced after Kuldeep tossed up the ball well outside the off-stump. Pant's attempt to strike the ball was unsuccessful, coming off the bottom end of the bat.
After spending eight long seasons which entailed a total of 111 matches for DC, Pant was acquired for a record sum of INR 27 crore by LSG during the mega auction in Jeddah in November 2024. The LSG skipper would have hoped for a better outing but it was a rather dismal start to his personal campaign. This was the fifth time he was dismissed for a duck in the IPL.
Rapidfire 70s from Marsh, Pooran guide LSG to 209
Earlier in the evening, blistering 70s from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran led the way for LSG obliterating the DC outfit with their aggressive strokeplay. The two accounted for a total of 12 fours and 13 sixes in their side's innings.

David Miller remained unbeaten on 27 off 19 deliveries. However, there was not a lot to show as far as the rest of the side is concerned. Ayush Badoni, Shardul Thakur, and Shahbaz Ahmed contributed only 13 runs off 15 deliveries combined as DC ended up their innings on a score of 209/8.
