On the road to the much-anticipated World Cup 2023, New Zealand have revealed their new jersey for the marquee event. Kiwis are set to appear in the ICC event in their classic black outfit with stripes dominating the second half of the t-shirt.

It remains to be seen how NZ will be able to flaunt action in 2023 after slipping against England in 2019 on the rule of boundary count. It was a heartbreaking scene for Kiwis four years back and they would be keen on clinching the glory this time around.

New Zealand will kick off their campaign against England in the tournament opener on October 5 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. England would be trying their best to kick off the tournament on a winning note in order to defend their title. However, NZ would be spirited to avenge the heartbreak of the 2019 edition.

Ahead of the impending World Cup, England and New Zealand were involved in a four-match ODI series in England. The home side remained absolutely clinical and finished the series 3-1 where Dawid Malan returned as the player of the series. With a loss like this just before the World Cup, NZ would have the time to reflect before coming up with better tactics in the ICC event.

However, New Zealand have named a quality side for the marquee event where their seasoned pacer Trent Boult would also be chipping in with his services after deciding to opt out of the central contract last year.  The tournament opener would be a show to watch as both teams would take on each other to set the tone of the grand event which would conclude on November 19. Ahead of the World Cup, NZ will also go against Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series starting on September 21.
