For the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League, the grand finale was shifted to a reserve day due to heavy rainfall and hailstroms in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 28. The two captains could not even walk out for the toss due to the downpour and the game was eventually moved to May 29, Monday.

Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will square off in the championship game now. While the MS Dhoni-led side will be aiming to grab another title and join Mumbai to become the team with joint-most number of IPL trophies, the Hardik Pandya-led side will be aiming to defend their title to become just the third team to do so.

Ahead of the all-important clash, CSK all-rounder Moeen Ali shared a video of the fans who had gathered outside the Narendra Modi Stadium and surrounded their team bus. The fans went berserk when they spotted the bus, and were seen cheering for the four-time champions. Sharing the video on his Instagram story, Moeen wrote:

"Nowhere in the world will you see this type of fan support @chennaiipl. Proud to play for the best franchise in the @iplt20."

Notably, Chennai Super Kings will be playing their 10th IPL final, while skipper MS Dhoni will be playing his 11th IPL final. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans lifted the trophy in their maiden IPL outing last year, and have made it to the summit clash for the second consecutive time.

As the game has shifted to the reserve day, both teams would be hoping for a complete 20-over-a-side game. Any rain interruption would not do good for the four-time champions, as another washout will lead to Gujarat clinching the title. If no play if possible on the reserve day, and if even the super over option is ruled out, Gujarat will win the tournament courtesy of their higher finish in the points table.

Gujarat Titans finished the league stage at No.1 spot with 20 points, while Chennai Super Kings finished second with 17 points.
