Team India have locked horns with hosts New Zealand in the second of the three-match ODI series at the Seddon Park in Hamilton. However, the contest had to be halted as the rain gods made their presence felt during the match.

After the covers came on, flamboyant India batter Suryakumar Yadav was seen taking a ride with the ground staff at the Seddon Park. In a video making rounds on social media, the right-hander was seen sitting in the ground staff’s vehicle.

“The @seddonparknz ground staff gets some assistance from Suryakumar Yadav,” the Black Caps posted the video on their official Twitter handle.

Match reduced to 29-over per side

The Seddon Park in Hamilton saw a lot of rain and was almost on the brink of a washout like it happened earlier in the first T20I match in Wellington. India, who were batting first, scored 22 for the loss of no wickets in 4.5 overs before the covers came on.

After careful inspection by the match officials, the game resumed with 29 overs to be played by each side. New Zealand registered a win in the first ODI match with a sensational knock coming from Tom Latham. The batter came down the middle order and slammed an unbeaten 145 runs alongside Kane Williamson’s 94* that helped guide the side to win the fixture comfortably.

The Men in Blue will look to clinch the second contest to keep any hopes of winning the series alive and make the third and final ODI a decider. Meanwhile, post the New Zealand series, team India will fly to Bangladesh for the ODI and Test series in December. The teams will be playing two Tests and three ODIs in the series running until December 26.
