Irfan Pathan has been one of the biggest supporters of the Afghanistan cricket team in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. He danced after Afghanistan's wins against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands and these became viral moments in no time. Prior to Afghanistan's crucial ODI World Cup 2023 game against Australia on Tuesday, November 7 in Mumbai, Rashid Khan and Co. had visited Irfan's house in the 'City of Dreams' for a dinner. The former India all-rounder began to trend on 'X' after the Blue Tigers lost to the former five-time world champions by three wickets.

Earlier in the day, Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and opted to bat first. Ibrahim Zadran carried his bat and became the first Afghanistan player to score a World Cup century. His knock of 129* off 143 balls comprised eight fours and three sixes. Rashid also entertained the Wankhede crowd with a quickfire 18-ball 35*. The Afghans posted 291/5 in their 50 overs.

The Aussie batters struggled during the run-chase as they lost their first seven wickets with just 91 runs on the board. Glenn Maxwell and skipper Pat Cummins joined forces as the duo stitched a mind-boggling partnership of 202 off 170 deliveries to take Australia home. The former finished unbeaten on 201 off just 128 deliveries in arguably the greatest ODI knock ever. The 35-year-old hit 21 fours and 10 sixes, battling cramps and a bruised back. Cummins held one end up with his unbeaten 68-ball 12 and gave Maxwell invaluable support.

Before the Maxwell blitzkrieg, Naveen-ul-Haq, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Rashid were all over the Aussies like a rash. However, they were left clueless as the 'Big Show' mesmerised the cricket fraternity with a knock that would stand the test of time.
