Australia's assault continued as Maxwell and Inglis continued to hit boundaries towards the end. in the final overs, Cummins also hit a few sixes to take Australia's total to 388 all out in 49.2 overs.

When New Zealand came in to chase the target, their openers, Conway and Young, made a decent start with a 61-run partnership. However, Conway got out, and shortly after, Young was also dismissed with a total score of 72 on the board.

Ravindra and Mitchell then put together a good partnership, but Zampa got the important wicket of Mitchell. Ravindra played wonderfully, scoring 116 runs off 89 balls, but the Kiwis kept losing wickets from the other end.
