The highly anticipated match between India and New Zealand took place at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. India won the toss and elected to field first.

New Zealand got off to a shaky start, losing two early wickets with only 19 runs on the board. However, Daryl Mitchell played an exceptional innings, scoring 130 runs. He was supported by Rachin Ravindra, who contributed 75 runs in a crucial 159-run partnership. Despite some close calls and lucky escapes, Ravindra played a key role in New Zealand's recovery. Mitchell attacked the spinners and reached his century in the 41st over. Mohammed Shami's impressive five-wicket haul triggered a late collapse for New Zealand, limiting them to a total of 273.

Kuldeep Yadav also made important contributions with two wickets, including the dismissal of New Zealand captain Tom Latham, who lost a review in the process. Glenn Phillips tried to counterattack, but Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep ensured India's dominance. New Zealand finished their innings at 273, setting a target of 274 runs for India.

India had a strong start to their chase, with openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill adding 71 runs for the first wicket. However, both batters were dismissed in quick succession after scoring 46 and 26 runs respectively. Shreyas Iyer played some good shots in his quick knock of 33 runs but couldn't carry on. KL Rahul contributed 27 runs before falling to Mitchell Santner's left-arm spin.

Amidst the fall of wickets, Virat Kohli stood strong and scored runs freely. He led India to their fifth win of the tournament, scoring 95 runs before getting dismissed in the 48th over. Ravindra Jadeja played an unbeaten knock of 39 runs and finished the match for India. The team achieved the target in the 48th over, winning the match by four wickets.
