The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad witnessed one of the finest knocks in ODI World Cup history. Travis Head's scintillating century helped Australia beat India by six wickets in the finals on Sunday, November 19. With this victory, the 'Men in Yellow' clinched a record-extending sixth ODI World Cup title.
Australia lost three wickets for 47 runs after being set a target of 241 by the hosts. However, Head stood like a wall and counterattacked with vigour to score a 120-ball 137 which made the encounter one-sided.
The southpaw's heroics didn't sit well with a section of Indian fans as they went on the comment section of one of his Instagram posts and abused him. Some even went to the extent of abusing Head's wife and one-year-old daughter in the comments section.
Absolutely vile and shocking. Indian cricket fans giving r@pe threats to the wife and daughter of Travis Head after the WC win.

It was a big risk with Travis Head and it paid off: Pat Cummins
Head suffered a fractured hand during Australia's tour of South Africa before the World Cup and there were doubts about his participation in the marquee event. But the selectors kept him in the 15-member squad so that he could play a part in the tournament after missing a few initial games.
The move paid dividends as the 29-year-old smashed two match-winning centuries in the tournament, finishing with 329 runs from six innings at an average of 54.83 and a strike rate of 127.52. Australian skipper Pat Cummins was effusive in his praise for Head and was happy that the risk the selectors took with him paid off.
"Really brave, he takes the game on, puts some pressure back on the bowlers and to do it on the biggest stage shows a lot of character. The selectors have backed him even when he had a broken hand and the medical team to get him back. It was a big risk that we took and it paid off. Couldn't be happier for Trav, he is a legend, we love him," Cummins said.
