Virat Kohli's sister Bhawna praised his brother after the batter starred in the side's first game against Australia in the ongoing ODI World Cup in Chennai. The 34-year-old batter played one of the most memorable innings of his international career against the Kangaroos.
Kohli along with KL Rahul blazed their guns when India were reeling at 2/3. The former India captain scored 85 off 116 deliveries, including six boundaries. He also stitched a 165-run partnership with Rahul for the fourth wicket. Notably, Rahul remained not out on 97 runs from 115 balls and helped India seal the win.
Bhawana was proud of Kohli’s show against Australia, and she posted a four-word story on Instagram and later shared it as a photo post after his dismissal.
"You are a champ," Bhawna mentioned in her post with ovation emojis.

Now speaking of Virat Kohli;s experience in the mega event, he has got centuries against Bangladesh and Pakistan in his debut ODI World Cup matches in 2011 and 2015, respectively. The right-handed batter had missed out on a well-deserved century against Australia, which would have been his 48th hundred in the ODIs. He made the entire nation proud with his devastating knock, though.
The team management has chosen to award a medal to the top fielder in each of their matches in order to place more focus on fielding. This initiative got underway with India's opening match against Australia. Kohli won it, making history by being the first person to receive the "Best Fielder of the Match" medal.
During his innings, Virat Kohli also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's previous mark for the most runs scored for India in ICC (International Cricket Council) competitions.
Kohli and Team India will be next seen in action in their second match in the ongoing tournament against Afghanistan on Wednesday, October 11, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, in Delhi. Meanwhile, the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan will be played on October 18, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad.
