After Travis Head's masterclass against India in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023, an old tweet for the late great Shane Warne resurfaced from 2016, in which he highlighted the amount of potential that Head has and how he can become one of the most important players for Australia in the future.
His tweet seems to have come to life as Travis Head put in a brilliant performance in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. Scoring 137 runs in 120 deliveries, Head ensured that he chased down the target and propelled the Men in Yellow to a resounding win.
“I'm a big fan of Travis Head as a cricketer, I believe he will be a future star for Australia in all forms of the game,” Warne had tweeted in December in the year 2016.
Australia aimed to chase down a total of 241 runs on the board in the first innings, and Head’s knock was crucial to the side in winning the game, his partnership alongside Marnus Labuschagne helped ensure that Australia won their sixth World Cup title.

The incident has been going viral over social media as many condemned the actions of the fans. The ODI World Cup final saw the Indian team post a total of 240 runs in the first innings, after some resilient knocks from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul.
Aiming to defend the total, the Indian team got off to a good start, taking three early wickets. However, the partnership between Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head proved to be costly for the hosts.
