A rare and remarkable tag team catching dismissal
The renowned European Cricket League (ECL) is a T10 cricket tournament featuring cricket clubs from various European countries. It is organised by the European Cricket Network.
In an unusual moment during one of the matches in the league, a batter from the batting side smashed the ball for a six towards long-on. The fielder stationed at the edge of the boundary ropes managed to take the catch but found himself unbalanced and close to stepping out of the boundary ropes.
In a quick-thinking move, he threw the ball to the bowler just before crossing the rope. The bowler completed the catch, resulting in a caught and bowled dismissal. Such events are extremely rare in the cricketing world, making this moment stand out as one of the most unique in history.

Origins and growth of European Cricket League
The Europe-based league was founded in 2018 by Daniel Weston, an Australian-born cricketer who represented Germany in international matches. The inaugural edition of the ECL was held in 2019 in Spain, with eight official ICC member federations participating in the event. The tournament was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, the tournament features 35 teams and follows a group stage and knockout format. The 2022 edition was won by the Spanish team Pak I Care Badalona. Dreux Vile Royaale from France claimed victory in 2023, and England’s Hornchurch claimed the title in 2024. In the 2025 edition, Jersey Club Farmers emerged as champions after defeating Roma by 42 runs in the final.
