After winning the first two Tests against Pakistan at Rawalpindi and Multan, England clinched a win at Karachi in the third Test to complete a 3-0 whitewash. Pakistan could manage to set a target of only 167 runs for England to chase in their final innings in order to win the third Test. The visitors clearly dominated the entire series both with the bat and the ball and claimed majestic victories.

England dished Pakistan out in their second innings on the third day and set their path clear for another easy and early victory. After the end of the day's play, head coach Brendon McCullum was seen giving out autographs and posing for pictures on the sidelines. When one of the fans gave him a shirt, McCullum signed it and threw it back over the fence to return it, but it got stuck. To everyone’s surprise, McCullum, aged 41, climbed up the fence, got the stuck shirt out and handed it to the fan on the other side of the fence.

England cricketer Alexandra Hartley, who is in Karachi as a part of the commentary panel, shared a video of McCullum’s heroics and captioned it: “Bazman >>>> Spider-Man”, with a spiderweb emoticon. England’s Barmy Army too shared the video and wrote: “Did you think there’s anything Brendon McCullum can’t do? We had a shirt mishap trying to throw it over a fence… BAZ TO THE RESCUE.”

England complete historic 3-0 whitewash

Speaking of the game, Pakistan were looking for a consolation victory after losing to England in the first two Tests in Rawalpindi and Multan. Saud Shakeel and Babar Azam, with their respective half-centuries, showed a ray of hope. England's debutant Rehan Ahmed, though, quickly dispatched both of the hitters, thereby ending their century stand.

He also dismissed Mohammad Rizwan early. He maintained the momentum and sent the lower-order batters packing as well, finishing with remarkable numbers of 5 for 48. He ended the day on a high note and became the youngest player, in the history of Test cricket, to pick up a five-wicket haul on debut. England finished an easy chase and won the third Test by eight wickets, thereby completing a 3-0 series whitewash.
