The India vs Pakistan encounter in the Asia Cup 2023 unfortunately got washed out on Saturday, September 02 leaving millions of fans all across the globe frustrated. Thousands of fans from different corners of the world had thronged to the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium to witness one of the greatest rivalries in cricketing history being ignited.
However, there was one Pakistani fangirl who stole the limelight for her admiration for Virat Kohli. The girl, who had both India and Pakistan flags drawn on her cheeks, chose Kohli over Pakistan skipper Babar Azam leading to some jeering and hilarious taunts from the surrounding crowd.
“Virat Kohli is my favourite player, I’m a bit upset as Kohli is my favourite cricketer and I wanted him to see score a century. I had come to see the match only for him and see him live. I’m supporting Pakistan also, but I love Virat Kohli,” the girl can be heard saying in the viral video.

Notably, Kohli, who boasts an outstanding record against Pakistan, got out cheaply during the game after scoring just 4 (7). The former India captain chopped a ball back onto his stumps in the seventh over of the innings against Shaheen Afridi leaving India reeling on 27/2.
The 34-year-old has 540 runs to his name from 14 innings in ODIs vs Pakistan at an average of 45 with two hundreds and two fifties. Furthermore, in T20Is Kohli averages a staggering 81.33 against Pakistan in ten innings having scored 488 runs with five fifties to his name.
India and Pakistan share points after washout
Apart from Kohli, Rohit Sharma (11 off 22), Shubman Gill (10 off 32) and Shreyas Iyer (14 off 9) also had forgettable outings in the game leaving India reeling at 66/4 in 14.1 overs. Ishan Kishan (82 off 81) and Hardik Pandya (87 off 90) played heroic knocks and took their team to a decent total of 265 as they got all out in 48.5 overs. However, no further play was possible after the first innings and the game had to be called off with the points shared between India and Pakistan.
