Pakistan Junior League 2022: Rawalpindi Raiders skipper Habibullah pummels 30 runs in an over

The inaugural edition of the Pakistan Junior League 2022 got underway recently and a youngster grabbed the spotlight in the game between Rawalpindi Raiders and Hyderabad Hunters. Having won the toss at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore, Rawalpindi Raiders skipper Habibullah opted to bat and it proved to be quite fruitful. They started off with tentatively with 23 for no loss in the first three overs, however, the fourth over from Fahad changed things completely.
The right-arm seamer started with a beautiful outswinger and he got the shape going quite nicely. However, in the very next delivery Habibullah smacked him for a six over deep mid-wicket area to start things off. On the third delivery, Fahad changed his line to wide off of stump and the full delivery was dealt convincingly for a big six over the extra cover region.
On the next delivery, the drama could have ended as Habibullah edged one into the hands of the mid-off fielder. However, it turned out to be a no-ball and the youngster got a big relief. He hit the next delivery for another six on the leg side on a free hit. The pressure got the better off the bowler as he delivered more no-balls in the over. The extra deliveries proved to be costly both the times as Fahad conceded four sixes already in the over.

On the final delivery of the over, Habibullah did not find the middle of the bat, however, he managed to find the gap to finish woth 30 runs in the over. The bowler was left shocked in the middle and it was a high-class innings from the youngster. From 2 off 9 deliveries, Habibullah raised away to 32 off 16 balls and brought up the half-century for his side in just the fourth over.
He added just seven more runs after the assault to be dismissed for 39 off 21 balls but his team managed to end up on the winning side as they won by DLS method after rain interruption. Notably, Afnan Khan picked up a hat-trick for the Rawalpindi Raiders in the same game. Habibullah, with the talent he possesses, could be soon drafted into the Pakistan senior side if he performs constantly.
