In contrast, the 28-year-old Imam, with just over a quarter of Ganguly's runs, has yet to solidify a concrete and established presence in international cricket. This disparity in statistics might very well be the underlying reason for the intense retaliation faced by the columnist from netizens. Such a response can be attributed solely to the stark contrast in the statistical records of the two cricketers.
