People surround Virat Kohli doppelgänger in Ayodhya, video goes viral
The fans hoarded the lookalike for pictures at the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
In a video that has been doing the rounds all over social media, a lookalike of star Indian batter Virat Kohli was spotted in Ayodhya at the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. The doppelgänger was wearing team India’s jersey as the fans hoarded him for selfies and videos. The lookalike continued to take pictures with the fans but tried to escape the crowd as it got bigger.
However, his attempt to escape the crowd proved to be unsuccessful. Furthermore, a lookalike of Sachin Tendulkar was also spotted in Ayodhya. Thousands of devotees visited the city to be part of the Ram Mandir ceremony on Monday. From businessman to various athletes, many celebrities were part of the ceremony.
Kohli pulls out of first two Tests against England
It is worth noting that the Indian team is gearing up to take on England in a five-game series that is slated to begin from January 25. The first Test will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad and in a major development for the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) announced that Kohli will be pulling out of the first two Tests of the series.
“Virat Kohli has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be withdrawn from the first two Tests of the upcoming IDFC First Bank Test series against England, citing personal reasons,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in an official release.
“Virat has spoken to captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention,” Shah added.
The statement also added that the cricketing body, along with the Men's Selection Committee headed by chief selector Ajit Agarkar, will soon name a replacement for the 35-year-old for the two Tests in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, respectively.
