The one-off Test between Afghanistan and New Zealand in Greater Noida has garnered attention for all the wrong reasons. The incessant rains did not let the game begin on Day 1 as lack of drainage facility was the highlight. Moreover, apart from the cricketing facilities, the media houses who were present at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground to cover the game were subjected to ill-treatment.

A photo is going viral, where the hygiene standards have been questioned apart from the game. The Day 2 of the game for media was a horror show as a catering worker was seen washing utensils from the tap water of the washroom. Previously, Afghanistan cricketers had alleged the BCCI of severe mismanagement, and with the photo going viral, the authenticity of the allegations has been taken seriously.

“There are no facilities. We will never come here again. Our preference will be Lucknow. There are no basic facilities. There is complete mismanagement at the venue. Even the players are not happy with good, training facilities and everything,” an ACB official said as quoted by Sports Tak.

Here's the photo of the incident:

The plight of the stadium after the rains was such that the staff dug around three feet of the area near mid-on. They then tried using artificial grass as filler to get the game going on September 10. Moreover, the organizers have been using rented covers and fans from the tent house. The teams remained in their hotel and had no hopes of the condition getting better.
