WATCH: Why did Rahul Dravid inspect the pitch in a wheelchair? His act before RR vs CSK breaks the internet
Despite an injury, Rahul Dravid’s dedication was on full display as he inspected the pitch in a wheelchair ahead of Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025.
Former India legend and Rajasthan Royals (RR) coach Rahul Dravid showed his unwavering dedication to his job ahead of Match 11 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) on Sunday, March 30. Notably, the home side, RR, clashed with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their secondary home venue, Guwahati's Barsapara Stadium.
Just ahead of the start, an act of Dravid’s left fans in awe of 'The Wall.' He was seen inspecting the pitch in a wheelchair, an act highly praised by cricket experts and fans alike. For the unversed, Sanjay Manjrekar and Ambati Rayudu were on air when the latter made the observation, which soon got the cricket community talking.
The former world champion Indian head coach is currently recovering from a leg injury he sustained while playing in a local game in Bengaluru just as the IPL 2025 season was about to kick off. Meanwhile, the clip, which is now breaking the internet, showed Dravid rolling on his wheelchair to inspect the 22-yard strip, leaving both experts in shock.
“I live in a bubble. I didn’t know that he (Dravid) was injured. What happened to him? Do you know that? What leg injury? CFL, AFL—something like that happens, right, Ambati? In the knee, or ACL probably,” Manjrekar asked Rayudu.
“My attention is going to the wheelchair. Is he allowed on the square?” Rayudu replied to Manjrekar with his impeccable observation.
“The way Ambati’s brain works, very few are like that. That’s why his batting was different. This is Rahul Dravid. If he has given his commitment, he will do it no matter what happens. He is a very good friend of mine, and you won’t find a better person than him,” Manjrekar summed up while praising his fellow expert's sharp observation.

Rajasthan beat Chennai by six runs in Guwahati
Meanwhile, speaking of the match, the hosts put up a competitive total of 182 runs on the back of Nitish Rana's fiery knock of 81 runs. Rana displayed his range of exquisite shots and faced just 36 balls to deliver a match-defining performance.
While chasing a 183-run target, CSK started poorly, losing Rachin Ravindra's wicket upfront. Thereafter, scoring slowly and losing wickets at regular intervals further derailed the run chase. In the end, Rajasthan Royals edged out Chennai Super Kings to win the match by six runs. With this, CSK is still searching for its first win of the IPL season.
