Rahul Dravid's younger son Anvay Dravid appointed Karnataka U-14 captain
Both of Rahul Dravid's sons have taken to playing professional cricket just like their legendary father.
India senior men's head coach Rahul Dravid's younger son, Anvay Dravid, has been appointed as the captain of Karnataka's U-14 side for a zonal tournament.
Rahul Dravid is currently with the senior Indian men's team for the ongoing three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
A new Dravid is born: Anvay Dravid follows his father's footsteps
Just like Rahul Dravid was the captain and a wicketkeeper-batter for the Indian side, his son Anvay is also a wicketkeeper-batter and now will be leading the U-14 Karnataka side. Anvay is known to be a good batter for his age and has been rewarded for his hard work and consistency with the bat.
Back in 2020, he had fallen short of a century but made headlines for his brilliant fifty in the semi-final of the BTR Shield Under-14 Group I.
Now after becoming the skipper, Anvay is going to have a big responsibility of leading the side by example in the upcoming inter-zonal tournament. It will be interesting to see how he fares in the role. Anvay also has an elder brother, whose name is Samit Dravid. Samit is also a batter.
Once in a zonal match, both Dravid brothers had played a brilliant innings. The match was a part of the BTR Shield Under 14 School Tournament, in which the duo struck a partnership of 200 runs. Anvay had scored 90 runs in that match. The performance of both brothers had helped their school reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
Anvay might be under a bit of pressure leading into the U14 inter-zonal tournament because of the leagacy he carries, and a lot of eyeballs will be stuck on the youngster.
