Although India may have ultimately lost the series, with their batters ensnared by the myriad of Sri Lankan spinners' traps, Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, appeared to revel in the sluggish, slow-turning pitches provided by the island nation, as evidenced by his tweet.

The tweet, posted midway through the first innings of the third ODI - where Sri Lanka ultimately set their highest total in the series (248/7) - revealed Ashwin's enjoyment of the constant fluctuations presented by the pitches in Sri Lanka. He highlighted how the pitches tested the batters' endurance with frequent collapses and playfully remarked that the modern generation, accustomed to faster-paced cricket and colossal scores, would likely find such slow, testing conditions tedious and challenging to endure.

Just a few hours after the tweet was posted, India experienced a calamitous collapse, as the Lankans outwitted their opponents to secure a resounding 110-run victory in the final game of the series. This triumph marked Sri Lanka's first bilateral series win against India in a span of 27 years.

On a personal level, Ashwin has recently excelled in his cricketing ventures. The 37-year-old adeptly captained the Dindigul Dragons to their inaugural title in the history of the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Throughout the tournament, he exhibited a remarkable all-round performance, amassing 252 runs in nine innings at an impressive strike rate of 151.80. Additionally, he secured nine wickets in 10 innings, maintaining an exceptionally frugal economy rate of 6.92.
