Ravichandran Ashwin ripped apart a social media user from spreading misinformation in relation to the recently-retired Indian cricketer speaking about the future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli on his YouTube channel. The user had tweeted that Ashwin had remarked that while Rohit would aim to feature in the Cricket World Cup 2027, Kohli had informed him on his potential retirement from the game after the Champions Trophy.

Ashwin, while replying to the tweet, sarcastically praised the "creative storytelling" of the user. His tongue-in-cheek retort has been doing the rounds on social media. The veteran spinner's response also indicates that his name has been wrongly quoted by the user with handle "@Ro_45stan" on 'X', formerly known as Twitter.

"Heartwarming to see humans still excelling at creative storytelling in this AI era. Nice script but maybe check with me next time before casting me in the lead role," the Tamil Nadu-born replied.

For the unversed, Rohit and Kohli had announced their retirement from T20Is after India attained glory at 2024 World Cup. Buzz is swirling that something similar could be on the cards if the Men in Blue win the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand on Sunday, March 9. However, these remain mere speculations at the moment, and only patience can clarify the speculations.

Well-rounded India start off as favourites against buoyant Kiwis

As far as the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 is concerned, there is no doubt that India are the team to beat after their flawless run to the final. New Zealand's only loss came against India in their final group-stage clash a few days back. The 50-run victory against South Africa in the second semi-final came as a timely boost for the Kiwis. The upcoming clash is anticipated to be a hard-fought battle between two sides which will be itching to get their hands on the coveted title.
