RCB memes go viral as Sydney Thunder get bundled out for lowest ever T20 score in BBL

Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder were involved in one of the most bizarre games in the ongoing Big Bash League 2022-23 season and certainly, it was an embarrassing moment for the Sydney Thunder. The Sydney Thunder franchise led by Jason Sangha registered the lowest ever total in a senior T20 fixture after being bowled out for just 15 while chasing a total of 140 in the 20 overs. 

Five batters were dismissed for a duck while no batter got to the two-figure mark. The innings was wrapped up in just 5.5 overs on account of an excellent spell from Henry Thornton and Wes Agar. Both the fast bowlers combinedly picked up nine wickets and never let the opposition back into the game.  

Thornton finished with extraordinary figures of 5 for 3 in his 2.5 overs while Agar picked up 4 for 6 in his two overs to do the bulk of the damage. The crowd and the commentators were in shock at what was transpiring at the Sydney Showdown Stadium and it was a day to forget for the Sydney Thunder side.  

RCB had got all-out for 49 in IPL

Meanwhile, fans on social media started to compare Sydney Thunder’s innings with the IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore who hold the record for the lowest total in IPL history. RCB were all out for just 49 in 9.4 overs while chasing 132 against the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2017.

The RCB fans in India have always had a tough time as the franchise is yet to win an IPL title despite having match winners like Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers over the years. No wonder, the RCB team was soon trending on Twitter once Sydney Thunder were all out for a low score and social media splashed out memes.
