RCB vs GT: Vijay Shankar deposits Vijaykumar Vyshak for monstrous 106 metre hit
Vijay Shankar smashed the biggest six of the night at the Chinnaswamy.
Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans were in a spot of bother against Royal Challengers Bangalore when they lost influential opener Wriddhiman Saha cheaply in a stiff chase. But Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar put his hands up for his side with a steady innings, which included a monstrous 106-metre six.
The defending champions lost Wriddhiman Saha, who lived a charmed life at the crease, to a spectacular catch by Wayne Parnell. With the side in a spot of bother, the Titans sent in Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar to accompany an in-form Shubman Gill in the middle. While Gill dealt in boundaries from the other end, his senior partner struggled for fluency.
However, the experienced campaigner grew into the contest as the match progressed, and he finally opened his shoulders against RCB's relatively inexperienced pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak in the 15th over of the second innings. The middle-order batter dispatched the young pacer for two consecutive boundaries and followed it up with a monstrous 106-metre six to reach a well-compiled half-century.
