In a recent interaction with Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) women's team captain Smriti Mandhana, the team's beloved comedian and mascot, Danish Sait, added his signature humour to the conversation. Sait, known as Mr. Nags, has been a fixture with the RCB men's team for over a decade and joined the women's team this year.

During the chat, Sait teased Mandhana about her performance in the previous season, suggesting RCB should consider the jersey number 100 for her. The southpaw, in good spirits, jokingly asked if Sait disliked her current jersey number, 18. Sait, quick on the wit, responded that the franchise couldn't afford the number 100 jersey, referring to her last season's average matching her jersey number, 18.

Here's the video of Nag's hilarious conversation with Smriti Mandhana:

RCB start off WPL 2024 being table toppers

In a commanding display, the Royal Challengers Bangalore triumphed over the Gujarat Giants (GG) in Match 5 of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024. Their resounding eight-wicket victory at M Chinnaswamy Stadium catapulted RCB to the summit of the WPL points table. Opting to bat first, the Giants faltered, failing to build momentum. Renuka Singh and Sophie Molineux stifled GG's innings, restricting them to a meagre 107 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Sophie Devine departed early, but RCB skipper Mandhana's brilliant 43 off 27 balls set the tone for their chase. Sabbhineni Meghana and Ellyse Perry, who scored timely knocks of 36 and 23 respectively, guided RCB to victory, reaching the target with eight wickets and 45 balls to spare. The match, a low-scoring affair, witnessed several new records.

Ellyse Perry, a key figure for RCB, has emerged as the franchise's top run-scorer in WPL history. Perry's stellar performance in WPL 2023 saw her rack up 253 runs at an impressive average of 42.17. With her contribution of 23 runs in the recent match, Perry's tally now stands at 284 runs, making her the highest run-getter for the RCB women's team.
