KKR aim to clinch third IPL title
Rinku played 14 games for KKR in IPL 2023, where he managed to score 474 runs, his highest tally in terms of a single IPL season. The southpaw maintained an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53.
As the imminent season approaches, the star batter will endeavor to replicate similar performances. KKR would go into IPL 2024 aiming to get their hands on the coveted title. The two-time champions (2012 and 2014) had a subpar season in 2023, failing to make it to the knockout stages of the competition. Playing 14 games in the season, Kolkata managed to win six of their games and lose the remaining eight.
The side finished in seventh, despite glimpses of brilliance scattered across some matches. However, with the arrival of ace left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc and former skipper Gautam Gambhir joining the franchise as their mentor, Kolkata will hope to perform better in 2024.
The side will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign by taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the third game of the tournament on Saturday, March 23. The team will hope to get off to a positive start and get their first points on the board for the season.
